Winter Snow at the Winery

Hi GCW Gang ~

Well it's almost another year gone by, but it's been a successful harvest and all the wines are tucked into the cellar and ready for their long winters nap. Seriously, it's the time of year to spend quality time with family and friends and enjoy the time off from work. We have had a winter blast hit us this past week, check out our new Smart Car covered in snow.

Cheers ~ Max

Harvest 2008 Complete Finally !

Hey GCW Crew, wow it's been a crazy fall harvest not to mention that Boeing's IAM machinists have been on strike so I've been working 10hr days for the past 2 months (my day job).

We have been hard at work getting all of the fruit in and processed, thanks to all our friends who helped us get the grapes processed in the early rains of September. Thankfully we've had such nice weather lately that the last 3-4 weeks of fruit processing have been wonderful.

Also, great news, our 1/2 acre of Syrah is looking fantastic, I'll post some new pics, Oh and for all those that care to know, I've turned the big 4-0 on Oct.6th, so in honor of this special occasion I decided to cut my hair so you'll see that in the pic as well. I'm going to try and keep an ongoing journal of current events and what's happening in the world of Griffins Crossing Winery in the weeks and months to come. Cheers ~ Max

Let the Fun Begin !!

Hey there GCW gang,

Just want to get this thing going finally. I'm planning on posting tidbits of what's going on in our winery and vineyard as well as some personal stuff to keep it real (Vacations/Winery/Vineyard pics, etc). Mainly, I want this to be a way to reach out to those friends, family and newly met people who we've touched in a small way through our love of wine. I'll be adding tasting notes here and there, making suggestions on wines and wineries I've visited that you need to seek out, plus as everyone knows, the only way for us to keep selling our juice is to get the word out.

Oh and Jen will kill me if I don't mention, FOOD PAIRING !!! The whole reason we got into this wine gig together was because we love food and wine and it's just such an amazing thing to experience the combination together when it hits you just right. Let me know what you think and I'll be back to keep on blogging and adding some pics. Cheers ~ Max
