New Music Fridays

We will be having new music Fridays coming soon to Sojen Cellars from 7-8pm. Let us know of any acts that would be a good fit in a wine tasting room ? We are looking for acoustic rock, jazz, blues or anything that would sound good in an open 2 story brick building. We can't pay perfomers at this point, but would be happy to let them sell their own cd's, posters, t-shirts after the show. E-mail me if you are interested, thx

Griffins Crossing Becomes Sojen Cellars

The time has come to say goodbye to Griffins Crossing Winery and say hello to our new name, Sojen Cellars. Due to a legal issue we have been required to change our name, so with the opening of our new tasting room and winery, we are Sojen Cellars and the tasting room is now open at 2818 Hewitt Ave in Everett, Wa next to Terracotta Red restaurant. We have regular tasting hours, Tues-Fri.4-8pm and Sat 12-5pm. We offer a flight of 5 wines to taste for $5, or a glass of white for $5 or red for $7. Jen and I are so excited to be able to bring our wines to a larger audience and we have been open for just 5 days an already people are finding out about us, it's amazing !! Come in and enjoy our cozy fireplace and use our free wi-fi on your computer, what could be better ?? We hope to see you all soon, Cheers ~ Max

Fundraising for Foodbanks~ A Huge Success !!

Thank You, thank you, thank you !!!
We are so gratified to see the wonderful out pouring of support at last weekends first fundraiser for the local Everett and Lake Stevens foodbanks. From our wonderful club members, family and friends we were able to raise $1,000 to split between the two food banks and I personally delivered the unexpected checks this past Thursday and both organizations were so appreciative that we would take our time and donate the food/money it took to put this event together.
Terracotta Red and Griffins Crossing Winery will be teaming up again this fall around the Thanksgiving time to make another even bigger impact on feeding the hungry right here in our own communities. Please take a few minutes and consider what an impact all of us can make on a single family that is struggling just to eat, each and every day. I know I really take it for granted and it pains me to see that we have so much need right here, so it feels amazing to give back in the way we can by bringing those together who love wine and food !! Cudo's to all.
We hope to see an even bigger turn out this fall. Cheers to all ~!! Max & Jen

Fundraiser at Terracotta Red Restaurant

We are excited to announce a joint fundraising effort with Terracotta Red restaurant in Everett, Wa. On Sunday May 17th from 2-5pm. Terracotta will provide appetizers and we will be pouring our wines to raise money for the Everett and Lake Stevens food banks. It's been a very difficult time these past few months for the foodbanks and we felt this would be a good way to help raise funds and give back to both communities.

We will be having a silent auction to raise additional funds and a local Thai musician will be performing during the event.

Cost: $25 per couple / $15 singles and $15 per couple for Griffins Crossing wine club members.
(cocktail attire preffered)

E-mail us if you are interested in purchasing tickets or stop by Terracotta Red restaurant in Everett, try the food and get your tickets for the event at the same time.
We look forward to seeing a bunch of our family and friends at the event. Cheers ~ Max

A New Season at GCW Begins !!

Howdy Gang ~

Too much time flies by and I neglect to put my thoughts down about where the winery is at, what we are doing and what's coming up. Well this is the start of a new season for us. We've got a brand new wine we've created for a fantastic local restaurant in Everett, Wa. Terracotta Red, check 'em out www.terracottaredbistro.com The wine will be released on their spring menu coming up in April/May timeframe based on getting all the legal stuff done (label approval).

I'm so excited about what's happening with our wines, wine club and new associations we've made over the past few months. Keep an eye out for a whole new look to our website AND wine labels, we are going to enter the 21st century and get a more dynamic looking site and labels to match. Our expansion in wine production over the past two years has us busting at the seams in our "Garagiste" winery and our new little Smart car needs a comfy home to live in, plus I'm getting tired of defrosting windows in these sub zero temps outside. So with that said, we are also planning on moving the winery production this year, all based on cost of new location and timing etc. In conjunction with the winery move, We are going to be offering "Winemaker for a Day" classes that would allow folks to be involved in the whole process of winemaking. I don't have all the details ironed out, but this blog is supposed to be the place to let all know who care about what's going on with us !! If you might be interested in this, drop us a line and I'm open to suggestions. I'll be back often to keep you posted on what's happening. Cheers ~ Max

Winter Snow at the Winery

Hi GCW Gang ~

Well it's almost another year gone by, but it's been a successful harvest and all the wines are tucked into the cellar and ready for their long winters nap. Seriously, it's the time of year to spend quality time with family and friends and enjoy the time off from work. We have had a winter blast hit us this past week, check out our new Smart Car covered in snow.

Cheers ~ Max
